Min. Rusty Watson
On a “chance” meeting on an elevator with the great Edwin Hawkins in 1984, Rusty was invited to be part of The Edwin Hawkins Music & Arts Seminar and initially was hired to be the Fashion Director of its’ arts component. Then onto serving in various capacities as a clinician, songwriter, singer and eventually running the seminar as its’ National Conference Coordinator.
In 1985 Edwin introduced Rusty to his younger brother, Bishop Walter Hawkins and while still living in St. Louis, Rusty joined Love Center Ministries in 1988.
He later, at the personal invitation of Bishop Hawkins, moved to Oakland and became the Music Director of the renown Love Center Choir.
Where he still serves today. Rusty also serves humbly with his fellow co-creators on The Ecclesial Council of the ministry.
God has afforded Rusty the opportunity to travel the world spreading the word in song working with a virtual who’s who in gospel music,
including, Andrae & Sandra Crouch, Daryl Coley, Rickey Dillard, Bishop T.D. Jakes’ Potters House Choir, BeBe Winans, The O’neal Twins
& The Interfaith Choirs 20th Anniversary albums, for which he was nominated for a Stellar Award – Producer and Walter Hawkins & Love Center Choirs Love Alive V project for which he was nominated for a Grammy Award (Vocal Director).
